Acumbamail integration please

Hi, I would really like to have Acumbamail as one of the choices in WP Fusion as a CRM option. Please add this native integration. Thank you.

  1. Hey Al, thanks for the suggestion!

Acumbamail looks cool! But it was just on AppSumo this month: https://appsumo.com/products/acumbamail/

Our official policy is to wait 1 year after any product has been on AppSumo before we create an integration.

    That’s because

a.) AppSumo deals (unfortunately) tend to go out of business, and we’ve lost a lot of time on this before

b.) If any changes are required in the API or we need any help from their devs, it’s going to be almost impossible to get any help while they’re dealing with all the new LTD customers. In a year things will be quieter and it will be easier to get help.

We’ll keep an eye on it and leave this request up for voting, and maybe we can look into an integration next year 🙂

In the meantime if you’re interested in exploring adding the integration yourself, we have some info here https://wpfusion.com/documentation/advanced-developer-tutorials/creating-custom-crm-modules/ and here https://wpfusion.com/documentation/advanced-developer-tutorials/how-to-submit-a-job-on-codeable-for-custom-development/

Hey, Acumbamail is a fully-established company that started in 2012 for the Spanish market, now diversifying into English mkt, hence why on AppSumo. So it wouldn’t be fair to categorize them in the same way as other offers on Appsumo which I agree many are dubious.

Please reconsider before Nov 2022 so it can be put on to a planned status at least. These guys aren’t going anywhere.

      1. Hey Louis,

I’ve just signed up for a trial. I’m not sure it’s a good fit for WP Fusion.

Normally we use tags in the CRM to protect content and trigger automations (https://wpfusion.com/documentation/getting-started/access-control/)

Acumbamail doesn’t have tags, the only thing we can access over the API for segmenting people is lists.

That’s okay, we use lists instead of tags with brevo for example… but with Acumbamail, each subscriber is unique to their list.

That means to add an existing customer to a new list, we can’t just send an API call to update the existing subscriber, we need to make a new subscriber on a new list.

And when a subscriber is removed from a list, it looks like their data is lost as well.

So imagine if a WooCommerce subscription has a payment failure, WP Fusion removes the person from the list (https://wpfusion.com/documentation/ecommerce/woocommerce-subscriptions/#subscription-status-changes), but to do that, we have to delete the actual subscriber along with all their data. You’d permanently lose any custom fields, or communication history with that subscriber.

Let me know if I’ve missed something or there is a way to use tags with Acumbamail (maybe on the paid plan?), but from what I’m seeing it’s not a good fit for an integration.

        Thanks
        Jack
