Remove tags WPFORMS and Forminator

It would be great if, instead of only adding tags when a form is submitted, we could also have the option to remove tags. This feature would be particularly useful for communities with a lot of activity, as it would eliminate the need to rely on a CRM or another automation plugin to handle tag removal when a form is submitted. I could use it for all the other plugins we use. But these forms I can see beneficial for a lot of wpfusion users.

  1. It’s a possibility but I’m always nervous about adding additional settings…. especially since someone will inevitably say “WPForms can remove tags, why not Event Calendar bookings?” it’s a slippery slope πŸ˜…

For now, if you can redirect the user on form submission, you can set the redirected page to remove tags when it’s viewed: https://wpfusion.com/documentation/getting-started/tracking-user-activity/#remove-tags

We will leave this up and see what the interest is like from other users πŸ‘

    1. I understand “WPForms can remove tags, why not Event Calendar bookings?” That would be my next suggestion as well as for Amelia, modern event calendar, bookly… ooh the list is long. :O)

    1. Haha. The problem is, when we add a feature just for one person to one integration, we tend to forget about it…. and it doesn’t get tested, or upgraded with the rest of the “forms”-category integrations.

And then when it breaks, you’re the only one who notices, and we end up fixing it just for you πŸ˜‰

I think a redirect + remove tag is a safer bet because lots of people do it that way, so we’re used to troubleshooting it. But I’ll leave this up and if there’s significant interest we could consider adding it as an option to all forms integrations. Or perhaps updating the “Apply Tag(s)” UI so that you can select tags both to apply and remove in the same interface πŸ€”
