Zoho Campaigns

Zoho Campaigns is the Email Marketing solution of Zoho and can be integrated with Zoho CRM, but using its own Tags (that can be synced with Zoho CRM), etc.
By connecting Zoho Campaigns directly would allow us to send email automation i.e. based on a new tag transferred by WPfusion. Thus we could use the complete set of Zoho campaigns triggers and actions like in ActiveCampaign and also do the contact updates here – and then sync this with Zoho CRM (so we need just this connected, not 2 at the same time). 1. Thanks! That looks like it will work.

My only concern is that most API operations happen against a specific list (i.e. adding contacts https://www.zoho.com/campaigns/help/developers/contact-subscribe.html or searching for them https://www.zoho.com/campaigns/help/developers/get-list-subscribers.html )

So that means you would need to select a single list to use for sync with WP Fusion. But you could tag people within that list to further segment them.

Do you think that would be workable? Or do you need the ability to use multiple lists?

        1. For me that works. I have 5 lists, 3 brands and 5 websites (3 brand websites + Shop + LMS) and each of them is connected to one list. So for my use case this is fine.
For anyone else it could still work, if you are using just one list (for all different brands) and do the segmentation with segments or tags, i.e. using the tags: LIST brand 1, or LIST brand 2, etc.

  1. I have a client interested in this. But currently they use different lists for each of their products. So sounds like we would have to combine everything into one list and use tags?

Is this integration on the roadmap yet?

    1. Yes you’d have to combine everything into a single list for it to work.

This is pretty low priority at the moment. Zoho tends to be difficult to work with, and I don’t love releasing an integration that’s essentially “broken” from day one….

Even if everyone here understands that you can only use a single list, new customers might see that we support Zoho Campaigns, sign up for WP Fusion, and then request a refund when they realize they’ll need to move everything into a single list. We had this problem many times over the years with the 50 tag limit in Zoho. We end up spending a lot of time in support trying to find workarounds, and then often have to issue a refund anyway.

Have you looked at using Zoho Flow to integrate the CRM and Campaigns? https://www.zohoflow.com/apps/zoho-crm/integrations/zoho-campaigns/

          1. Yes that’s another option. Instead of using tags for segmentation, we could just use lists.

However that means that every WooCommerce product, course, membership level, etc (basically everything you want to use as a segment) would need its own marketing list in Zoho. Access control would be based on lists, not tags.

That sounds like it would work for Ted, but not for you.

We could even make an option in the setup to allow you to choose Lists or Tags for segments.

Either way, at the moment, with the way the Zoho Campaigns API is designed, we’re going to always have a segment of users who have to significantly change the way they use Zoho in order to make it work with WP Fusion.

This inevitably results in frustrated customers, and refunds, so I don’t want to invest much time in it until Zoho either improves the API or we have a dedicated subset of users who really need Campaigns integration and understand they will need to either use Lists or Tags, but not both.
